Agape Baptist Church
was founded in 1999 in Scottsboro, Alabama. A handful of people believed that the community needed a new and energetic work that would do whatever it takes to reach people with the gospel of Christ. This small group of people met with founding pastor, Roger Mardis, and discussed the idea of a church plant.
Agape is a loving and gracious body that is enjoying the touch of God. From day one the church has maintained an amazing unity that solely exists for the purpose of embodying the character of God to the watching world.
Agape moved into its current location on Dick Hayes Road at Hwy 72. By God’s grace, the 27 acre campus and will one day be fully developed with an athletic complex, ministry village, walking trail, amphitheater, and worship center.
Agape welcomed its second pastor, Pastor Ryan Johnson. In this new season, God’s purpose for Agape has been clarified and the fuel revealed.
Worship God • Love People • Make Disciples
This will be accomplished through a biblical vision for Worship, Prayer, Fellowship, Ministry, Discipleship and Evangelism. As God’s people believe His promises, they will find His provision for every purpose. Every member is called to action to serve in a capacity God has designed just for them.
